SMEStorage FAQ?
Can I use my own S3 Account ?
If you subscribe to our basic service then you will be using the Amazon S3 Service we provide. If you want to use your own key you should subscribe to our OpenS3 beta.
We also provide import/export tools so that you can move data from your SMEStorage Account and any other S3 account.
What size files can I upload ?
You should have no problem uploading any file size as Amazon S3 supports up to 5GB. If you are using GMail or another email provider then individual file sizes can be limited to 10 MB
If I delete a file by mistake can I get it back
Yes, if you look in your Trash bin from the File Manager you will see that the file is available until you empty the trash.
Do I have to use the service over the Internet ? Are there any other ways for me to access the service ?
Yes, you can access the service using the iPhone, a Google Gadget, a Facebook Widget, a Joomla Component, a Firefox Plug-In, using our Microsoft Windows tooling and integration and in the July 2009 timeframe we will be launching an Adobe Air version
Are you intending to support for Cloud Vendors?
Yes, currently we provide support for Amazon S3, Mosso Cloud Files, Box.net, GMail-as-a-cloud, Email-as-a-Cloud, and Private Cloud (FTP). In the future we intend to provide support for MobileME (IDisk) and any other WebDav based Cloud File Server.
